The Norwegian Committee for Cigre decided in committee meeting it 8. April to allocate the electric power price for 2024 to Geir Clasen from Nexsans Norway.
Clasen graduated in a civil engineer in 1991 ved University of Strathclyde i Glasgow. He has since been employed in the cable industry (Alcatel Kabel Norge AS and Nexans Norway).
Clas's first position with Cigre already occurred in 1994. Since then he has both participated in and been the leader of a number of working groups within the study committee (SC) B1 – Insulated Cables. Clasen was in the period 2008-2014 Norwegian member of SC B1 and from 2022 Has he been the leader of SC B1 and thereby been a member of Cigres Technical Counsil. As leader of SC B1, Clasen has a very central role in the imminent symposium in Trondheim.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Norwegian Academy of Sciences in Oslo on 13. June.
